MEDICAL FITNESS is exercising for good health, because its primary goal is achieving optimal health, which leads to the desired physical fitness. The basis of this personalized approach is creating balanced training and recovery programmes. It is founded on sports and physical medicine with the aim of achieving optimal functionality of movement of specific body parts, as well as the body as a whole.

Intended for people who have completed rehabilitation or have a special medical condition, the programme enables them to:

  • Continue the progress made during the treatment or rehabilitation
  • Improve their overall physical fitness under the safe supervision of an expert
  • Monitor heart rate during exercise and blood pressure before and after exercise
  • Develop a continuous commitment to a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise with the aim of improving and preserving health and quality of life.

 

PERSONALISED APPROACH IN CREATING EXERCISE PROGRAMMES

Each exercise programme is tailored to your health issues, physical fitness, age, daily activities, and it includes the following:

Examination by a physical therapist and assessment of your physical fitness using appropriate diagnostic methods;

  • If necessary, involvement of other experts in the assessment (physiatrist, nutritionist, cardiologist, psychologist, etc.)
  • Creating exercise programmes aimed at restoring or regaining optimal functionality of individual movements and body as a whole (leading to better physical health, and returning to daily activities with ease and required strength)
  • Workouts under the supervision of a physiotherapist-instructor (understanding the client’s needs, pain or distress, motivation and good energy exchange)
  • Monitoring the progress and exercise performance.

TYPES OF EXERCISE FOR PARTICULAR HEALTH ISSUES:

  • Exercises with gradual functional progress after primary rehabilitation (for fractures, sprains, muscle injuries, tendons and ligaments)
  • Medical exercise for certain rheumatic conditions and painful conditions (discus hernia – neck or lumbar, arthrosis of the hip, knees, chronic foot pain, shoulder pain)
  • Physical exercise for improving general physical state with pulse and pressure monitoring (in heart disease, bronchial asthma, cancer, diabetes and other hormonal disorders where there is greater fatigue, and after inactivity due to certain interventions or surgeries)
  • Postural rehabilitation – exercises for improving posture (kyphosis, scoliosis)
  • Exercises for osteoporosis – maintaining muscle mass through weight training helps to maintain strength, balance, stability and coordination. The focus of the training is on the legs, hips and spine areas as the most vulnerable regions that affect this disease.

EXERCISE PROGRAMME

Training lasts up to 60 min and can be conducted:
– Individually (1-on-1) or
– In smaller groups with a trainer/therapist (up to 3 persons in a group, with similar health issues)

 

EQUIPMENT:
All trainings are conducted on several workstations: on cardio devices of the renowned world brand LIFE FITNESS (treadmill, Nordic skiing equipment, ergocycle – bicycle with a back rest), matte, stepper, Swedish ladders, using weights, elastic tape or Pilates balls. Special feature is exercising on the latest fitness trainer POWERTEC Multifunctional Deluxe, which provides unlimited exercise possibilities both by type of muscle and by resistance. It is an unmatched device for health and recreational fitness. There is a possibility of additional stretching on an inversion table.
